What we commit to. And what we refuse to do.

The Mezzanine Experts is funded and published by Cogan, an industrial mezzanine manufacturer. Because that creates an inherent commercial interest, we hold this site to standards that are stricter than what most B2B trade media follow. These are our public commitments. If you believe we've fallen short of any of them, please write to editorial@themezzanineexpert.com.

01 — Publisher disclosure

Every page of this site discloses, in the footer and in the header band above navigation, that we are published by Cogan. The About page and this page expand on that. We will never obscure or rebrand to hide the relationship.

02 — Honest competitor coverage

Our directory lists every credible manufacturer and installer in the industry, including direct Cogan competitors. Our comparison articles name specific dimensions on which competitors are stronger than Cogan. We will not publish a comparison in which Cogan wins on every dimension, because no manufacturer wins on every dimension — and claiming otherwise destroys our credibility and your ability to use this site.

03 — Named, credentialed authors

Every article on this site is signed by a named author with verifiable engineering or industry credentials. Most authors are members of Cogan's engineering team; some are external industry advisors. We will not publish under generic bylines (“staff”, “editorial team”) or pseudonyms.

04 — AI-assisted, human-reviewed

We use AI tools to draft, research, and structure articles. Every article is reviewed and fact-checked by the named human author before publication. We will not publish unreviewed AI output. We use AI to increase volume and speed, not to bypass editorial judgment.

05 — No paid links, no paid rankings

We do not accept money in exchange for backlinks, ranking position in our directory, or favorable coverage. Sponsored placements (if we ever offer them) will be labeled distinctly and will not affect ranking algorithms or editorial coverage.

06 — Corrections policy

When we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Substantive corrections are noted at the top of the article along with the date of correction. Minor typo fixes are made silently. The published version is always the authoritative version.

07 — Source transparency

Articles that make factual claims cite their sources. When we cite a building code, we link to the code authority. When we cite a price, we name the date and method of the estimate. When we cite original research, we publish the methodology.

08 — Reader privacy

We use analytics to understand which articles are useful. We do not sell reader data, and we minimize the third-party tracking on this site relative to typical trade media. See our privacy policy for specifics.

How to flag a concern

If you believe we've violated any of the above — for example, if our coverage of a competitor seems unfair, or if you've spotted a factual error — email editorial@themezzanineexpert.com. We respond to every editorial concern within 5 business days.
